DESIGNER

Alexandra Manini's designs reflect an ethnic, yet elegant and cosmopolitan style. Here, she reveals her inspiration and her preferences:

Describe your collection?

Handcrafted jewellery inspired in exotic places around the globe. My designs have ethnic influences but are simultaneously elegant and stylish.

Who are your clients?

Elegant, free, stylish & international women of all ages who feel at home around the world.

What is your source of inspiration? What influences your collections?

The passion for travelling to exciting destinations and a wish for openness in the world are key in my desgins. I am also inspired by music, the rhythms, the arts and the universe. I am the most creative during my sleepless late nights and early dawns.

What do you foresee in jewellery design for the upcoming few years?

The idea of starting up a brand in 2009 was to create jewellery with a meaning behind it. I'm very loyal to the style and  the concept that I have created, which has given Steinkult recognition in various markets. My designs are timeless and they allow a persons personal collection to grow. A client can wear one of the pieces they bought some time ago by adding my latest creations. As a designer I have the scope to develope and refresh my collections. For me, this is the true essence of what Steinkult A Glittering Voyage stands for.

Do you have any jewellery dislikes?

I do not like brooches.

Where do you feel at home?

My home is Switzerland and Spain, but I have this great gift of adaptionn. I can feel home almost everywhere. I think it is important that we get an understanding on how different we are from one another and also how similar we are. I love to travel to as many places as possible in one lifetime.

What is your most precious jewel?

My family.

First jewellery...
My first precious piece of jewellery was a gift which I got from my mother: a gold necklace with an adorable pendant in heart shape setted with diamonds.

How does jewellery make you feel?

Jewellery is the way I can express myself, my love for travelling, for color and style.

Best place to retire?

My home or a beautiful beach.

Favorite outfit?

I'm most comfortable in my jeans, flipflops, tunica and wearing one of the statement rings of my newest collection that adds a touch of casual luxury to it all.

Favorite drink?

Indian chai (Darjeeling tea with spices). Can’t live without!

Favourite song?

Oh, too many... For classic ones definitely St. Matthew Passion by Johann Sebastian Bach and Adagio for Strings by Tomaso Albinoni. But also many other songs from more contemporary artists like Paolo Conte, Viktor Lazlo,Talking Heads, Amy Winehouse just to name a few .

Make a wish...

Just reading books without any disturbance with piece of mind.

Personal mantra...

Que sera, sera (Whatever will be, will be)

Any place you'd plan to visit soon?
